How to Test 4/8 pin connector

Hi everyone.
I have this configuration:

mobo= ga-x58a-ud3r(Gigabyte)
Processor = I7 970 (Intel).
Memory= 4G (1600) Patriot Module
PSU= TX750w(Corsair).
Video= GV-N4600C-1G(NVidia)
DVD (24x)
HD=2Tera.
All the products are new from Amazon.
I just left connected the CPU and the cooler with 24 and 4/8 connector on their please.
The problem is when I turn on the machine. I got the mobo internal leds and cpu cooler ON for about 2 seconds,and then they just turn off.
I already tested 24 pin connector on the TX750w(Corsair) with ANTEC power supply tester. Does anyone know how to test the 4/8 connector?

I'll appreciate any recommendation.
