Hey guys, I am looking to build my mom a computer for her Christmas present. She obviously doesn't game hardcore, but she plays those stupid little yahoo games and such. Other than that, she just cruises the web and does the typical stuff that old people do. Currently she has a p4 3.2  so anything is better than what she currently has

Obviously trying to keep it as cheap as possible and under 600.

Case: Sonata Proto $65
CPU: i5 650 $140
Mobo: Giga GA-H55M-USB3 $110
RAM: Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 $65
Graphics card: Left over 4850
PSU: Rosewill 450w $39
HDD: WD Caviar 500Gb $46
Cheap optics

Really wouldn't mind a better cpu, but for the price...it's hard to pass up. Anything that you guys would recommend changing?

Thanks!

Mosox's build looks good. The old "450W" Rosewill PSU is undoubtedly fecal, and your CPU is overkill. I just [re]built a similar system for my Mom, upgrading a Pentium "D" with a dead Biostar mobo. I used an Athlon II X2 260 and an ASRock 770DE, but basically a low-end AMD system will be all your Mom needs.
