First build problems

so i managed to build a computer for the first time and, of course, i have so problems with it.

First when i power my pc i hear no beep and i get no video.

Second once my pc is powered up i cant shut it off using the case power button (even if i hold it for some time) I have to turn the power supply off.

All the fans are ok includind the cpu and graphic cards fans.

Will you first of all give a full spec of your computer.

So the fans spin etc but you get no screen? Not even a BIOS splash screen?

Not being able to turn it off is strange, does the reset button work? Check that you have plugged in the power on header connectors correctly.

nope no screen. not even a bios splash screen. I'll double check the power connectors but i think their ok

This mobo has onboard DSub and DVI connectors. Try plugging your monitor into the mobo. If this works, then the BIOS may need to be changed to read from your GPU first.

... im a little embarassed. I found the problem. i simply forgot to plug the power supply into the 8-pin EATX12V. i only plugged the 24-pin.

now its works like a charm i still didnt hear any beeps though

Nice. Regarding your no beep concern, are you sure you have a mobo speaker installed? Keep in mind this speaker is not the same as connecting your desktop speaker or X.1 audio system. A mobo speaker looks like this:
