First build problems Tags: Homebuilt Build Power Systems Last response: December 2, 2010 7:20 PM in Systems Share varlope December 2, 2010 2:28:48 PM ok so i managed to build a computer for the first time and, of course, i have so problems with it. First when i power my pc i hear no beep and i get no video. Second once my pc is powered up i cant shut it off using the case power button (even if i hold it for some time) I have to turn the power supply off. So the fans spin etc but you get no screen? Not even a BIOS splash screen? Not being able to turn it off is strange, does the reset button work? Try plugging your monitor into the mobo. If this works, then the BIOS may need to be changed to read from your GPU first. | Report abuse varlope December 2, 2010 5:30:01 PM ... im a little embarassed. I found the problem. i simply forgot to plug the power supply into the 8-pin EATX12V. i only plugged the 24-pin. now its works like a charm i still didnt hear any beeps though thanks for your help anyway guys | Report abuse T_T Homebuilt system Authority December 2, 2010 7:20:14 PM Nice. Regarding your no beep concern, are you sure you have a mobo speaker installed? Keep in mind this speaker is not the same as connecting your desktop speaker or X.1 audio system.
