Hello,
bt are telling me that my connectivity problems are caused because my vista computer is set to use 8.8.8.8 as dns whereas my xp pc take dns from the router - they say all dns must be bt - does this make sense?

Seems likely that it will work better if you let things run on automatic.

To change TCP/IP Properties.

Start, Connect To, Connection, Properties, Scroll Down TCP/IP and highlight, click Properties and check that Obtain DNS and IP address automatically are enabled.

No, there's nothing wrong with using the Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4).

Yup, I switched to the Google DNS servers as they worked better in some cases than Comcast's... What connectivity problem are they blaming on DNS?
