ok so I am trying to sell a few things to a friend (brand new stuff that I buy from a wholesaler here in South Africa) now his brother seems to think all amd processors are rubbish and overheat, im planning on selling him an amd x3 445 (hes on a budget gaming build) and his brother wants him to get a pentium dual core. My argument is that he knows nothing about amd CPUs and the x3 is better in every single way and that amd is the best way to go on a budget build. So please can you tell me what you think so I can send this link to him, thank you

For the price it's certainly hard to discount the virtues of a 445 Rana.
I would just have him read this which has changed somewhat since some new processors have been released.
Currently the best value cpu is the 450 a newer version of the 445.
As we know the 445 held this position for about a full year.

In this chart you can see that the amd x3 445 is way better than the Pentiums for gaming and is on the same level as the highest core 2 duos. Im an Intel fan (i have an i5-760 and i love it ) but the truth is a x3 445 would beat any Pentium :/

All intel fan-boys think AMD are slow and hot, it just shows how long it's been since they've ever used one. Intel are very good, run cool and are very fast, but they cost the earth. AMD are also all very good, run pretty cool (don't use stock cooler on the higher end ones) yet are dirt cheap for the performance.

You're completely right in thinking the AMD X3 will destroy the Intel.
