What is a shadow media video card for sims 3

am unable to play sims 3 on my pc, says I need to update my video card. Not sure what this is.

It means your graphic card is not good enough and you need to buy a new and better one.

Sims 3 requires a card capable of shader 3.0.
New cards costing $40 have that.

of course if you have a laptop then you can't upgrade, other then certain gaming laptops but then you would not have the issue
