Will a gtx 460 fit?

I have a gateway desktop. My case can fit the card i already measured. My question is about the motherboard. I have a gateway rs780. I want to upgrade my horrible 5450 card thats in it. But i read that the 460 takes up two pci slots in the mobo? I know someone who put a 5770 in it. Im just curious if My motherboard will be sufficient.

Your motherboard should be fine, the GTX460 is a dual slot card like the HD5770. It means that they fit physically in one slot and block the next slot below with their coolers. The other concern is that you will need a bigger PSU with GTX460 than HD5450.
