Fixing CPU FAN error on a ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3

Ok so i just added an after market heatsink (newegg#:N82E16835608018), but the power cord for the heatsink fan doesnt plug into the CPU fan spot on the motherboard it just plugs into a regular fan plug.

SO when ever i turn on my rig it gives me a CPU fan error, which i can just hit F10 and go on but it is really anoning.
The motherboard is a ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 (newegg#:N82E16813131655).
Does someone know how to turn off the CPU fan in the bios or some other way to make it go away.
Please help and thank you

I'm assuming you mean the fan connection from the heat sink is just a 3-pin connector where-as on the motherboard you have a 4-pin connector?

If so, then you are in the same boat as me. I have the Cooler Master 212+ running with two Scythe Slipstream fans which are just 3-pin fans. I have it plugged into the 4-pin CPU slot and in the BIOS you just have to change the fan type for the CPU_Fan plug to "DC Fan" on the "Hardware Monitor" section of the BIOS setup
