what should i buy intel core 2 duo or amd Phenom x2 555??

Hey guys I want to buy a set of cpu, motherboard and RAM.. And i dont have a big budget so please do help me for choosing the right hardware for my computer...

I would avoid the Core 2 Duo on the basis of being so old, perhaps a Core i3 instead?

The core 2 duo series is outdated. I would reccomend a intel core i3 or mabey an intel core i5 if you can swing it. My personal opnion is to stay away from amd.
