so after putting my first pc together i couldn't get it to post and wasnt getting any beeps from mobo although all fans were spinning. even tried out only hooking up cpu and heatsink and still no beeps from mobo. after reading reviews from my psu, cpu, and mobo i am relatively sure the problem is my mobo. i think i will try returning it for another one just like it first to see how that goes. is this a painful process through newegg? anyways if that doesn't work out i will pick a new mobo. what are you suggestions?

my parts:

i would prefer to stick with a 1600 memory standard w/o OC since my RAM is 1600. this looked ok to me. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153191

SOOOOOO, what did the gigaparts store have to say?

AND, people seem to think power supplies don't matter. Your drawing a ton of power, and for SOME reason you think some No Name Cheap Piece of Junk Power Supply is going to "get the job done".........

High End systems require a good, solid, stable supply. Do some Research.....

My mistake, thought you were running two (2) 5770's....

Here are the numbers from the Antec Power Supply Calculator:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131621

Stock system: 305 watts
Mild OC CPU: 315 watts

IF you wanted to run a second 5770 or step up to a 5870

add another 105 watts or 420 watts that would make a 450 watt supply pretty marginal

I have seen several cases were inexpensive power supplies that claim 400, 450, or even 500 watts were unable to boot a basic system with ON-Board video. It's just hard to tell what your going to get. So, I've moved to Antec and Corsair supplies to avoid issues.

Ouch, lucky it was an AMD CPU...

The Intel chips don't pins on the CPU, but "contacts" on the socket on the motherboard. I've heard many stories that if you bend one of those socket pins your motherboard is often toast...
