I am looking to spend around $850 on a new computer. It will be primarily used for gaming (WoW, Black Ops). I already have a 24" monitor, windows 7, speakers and a keyboard + mouse. This will be my first build :D

I'm looking for a sub $100 case that has enough room for a good aftermarket cooler and a bottom mounted psu.

If you major on WoW, sli/crossfire and AMD cpus may not be the best place to go:

You have a good build for WoW, use a Seasonic 520W psu ($60) for a single vid card, or a different mobo and a Corsair 750W ($110) for sli/crossfire.

If other games occupy more of your time, an AMD build may be a better value.

I'd say wait for Sandy Bridge next onth, but your budget may be a little light for the early cpu/mobo prices.

That xfx psu and 5850 is an amazing deal! I will probably get that instead of the 460. Regarding sandy bridge, I would prefer it over my current choice of the 760, but I will be needing a computer starting mid January. I know that SB is coming out Q1 of 2011 so should I wait? I have read that prices will be comparable to the 760.

Also I picked out my case. CM Storm Scout

Yea, you should wait till Jan. Jan 9 is the expected release date, but I wouldn't put any money on them being available that day.

Also, if you're waiting for Sandy bridge, might as well wait until the 69xx GPu's come out. They're technically the replacement for 5870 and 5850, so even if you can't afford em, it'll probably bring down price of the other GPU's.

Isn't Nvidia coming out with the gtx 560 in January too? I would love to wait for this new tech, but since I am selling my current computer I will need this new one sooner rather than later. I suppose I could wait until late January, but that would be the latest time possible.
