So my good old gtx 260's finally died out.... I play games and want to run them without any problems...
Most titles i play are Starcraft 2, Team Fortress 2, CS:S and Bad Company 2.
I played fine with my GTX 260 on those games.. I want a card with a good performance to price ratio.
Im willing to spend 250$ tops on the card excluding the shipping from the price.
I run most of my games at 4x AA since anything above that is just fps murder from what ive seen.
Anyways my system specs are the following.
MOBO - MSI NF 750 G 55 SLi Ready MB
RAM - Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333mhz 4 GB
CPU - AMD Phenom 2 x4 955 BE @ 4.0 GHz
PSU - Corsair TX850 Watt PSU
HDD - 7200 RPM Western Digital 300Gb Hard Drive
Monitor - Gateway HD2201 22 inch Monitor at 1680x1050 max resolution
Case - Antec 900 Two
Ive Been looking at the GTX 460's 1gb Version... but theirs a ton of them....
If i were you, id wait for now. the new 6 series GPUs are coming out shortly. and will almost certainly be the best choice. but even if not, they will cause price cuts in other sectors. If you can hold out for a month, you will be rewarded.
It's a pretty good card with 2 fans instead of 1, but that might make it more noisy. The ASUS card comes with CUCore technology which cools the card wsithout the need for an extra fan. Both cards have voltage tweak technology so it really doesn't matter The ASUS one is cheaper though, so I'd go for that. THe ECS version also has 2 fans but comes at a higher clock speed.
i dont mind the noise to be honnest...cant really hear since i usually have music on or just increase the volume....
MSI Hawk looks nice though....
i think ill get that one.. the Asus one is just a few bucks off the hawk..
