  1. Link dont work. Plz follow this guideline
  2. works for me...
  3. If your thinking of maybe adding a 2nd GFX card in future, I'd up the PSu to an 850 HX and meybe increase case size....if it will only be the one from here on in, then I'd drop to a 650TX

Skip the green HD and get a Spinpoint F3 or Seagate 7200.12

CAS 7 usually close in price to CAS 8 so as to make the cost premium irrelevant.

If ya are gonna do twin GFX cards some time in the future, that Gigabyte boards lose their ability to handle USB 3 bandwidth and drop to half speed.

See this before picking a CPU cooler
  4. Thanks for your comments. I wanted to be on the safe side with the psu, no intentions yet to have a second gpu.

what's wrong with the green hd? i don't mind a bit o loading time (budget is stretched out, so I need to save where I can).

Thanks a lot for the comment on the boards! I'll reconsider that one. But that is again assuming I'd buy a second graphics card, which I don't know yet.
  5. ^ the link just dont work for me and u aint posting the specs either. anyways for 2nd GPU u certainly dont need higher then 700w PSU dats for sure with cards like 6870 or 470 and below. Samsung F3 is a better hdd. Asus board is most preferable. Full Tower case is preferable if budget allows.

If u post the specs listed in that link that would be very kind of u.
  6. Here the specs.

One thing I am worried about now: the motherboard. Which mb would you suggest that for now works fine with one GPU, has USB3 functionality THAT IS NT LOST when a second GPU is maybe added later and how would this mb affect my power requirements.

  7. ^ can u post your total budget?
  8. let's say this accumulates to about as much as I want to spend...maybe 50£ more, max
  9. Agreed on the mobo.

But why this GPU? It's weaker in all respects and costs 10£ less (only).

As to the HD, I think this one's just fine (1TB Seagate Barracuda):
  10. GPU for future consideration of adding another GPU, u might not get the 5870 after an year or so cause its old now but u will have the 6870 available. Samsung F3 hdd is better in performance from W.D and Seagate.
  11. hm that's a good point. But anyway, for now I think I'm preferring the 5870.

As I have placed my order now, I do believe that the performance difference between the barracuda and the spinpoint is rather minor?

Anyway, thanks for your comments and good luck with your own built.
