Hello, I am currently an owner of an Nec OptiClear 90GX2 and am looking to upgrade. i have been working in retail electronics at a Future Shop for 5 years now and have NEVER seen a display as bright, clear, sharp or as colorfull as this. everyone i know comments me on how nice this monitor displays.

I am looking for something out there that exists on some continent that is in the 24"+ size, 400cd/m2, w/glossy surface. i have been searching the internet for hours and all i can seem to find are matte displays in the size and brightness category i am seeking.

all models listed are appreciated. someone who knows this display, invaluable.

Your Nec OptiClear 90GX2 uses an S-IPS LCD panel. Most shops only carries inexpensive TN panel monitors which pale in comparison against an IPS panel when it comes to colors and viewing angles.

If price is not a issues, then consider the 24" 1920 x 1200 resolution HP LP2475w which is sold by future shop for $641. Unfortunately, it has a matte screen (which is what I personally prefer).

Not sure if it's a Canadian thing, but I hate it when website do not not list the name of the monitor. Only listing the manufacturer # isn't really helpful. I had to do an additional search on "KD911A8" to realize I was looking at the HP LP2475w.

The older version of the HP LP2475W is also list and since it is no longer in production, the price has gone up to $919. Also, the specs are slightly off; the resolution is 1920 x 1200 not 1920 x 1080.

The Nec OptiClear 90GX2 is rather unique. It is one of those rare IPS monitors that comes with a glossy screen. The 24" Apple Cinema Display is probably your best bet for an IPS panel monitor with a glossy screen.

Any reason you want a glossy screen or do you mean glossy bezel? Depending on your budget I'd pick up a Dell U2410 or maybe a u2711 if you want a bigger screen as they are IPS panels, but both are matte. Some HP monitors are glossy.

Probably because glossy screens makes colors look more saturated which is why they are mostly used on TN panel monitors.
