Difference between 1066 and 1333 memory

Hello,
I have Toshiba Laptop c655 in which ddr3 1066 MHz is installed can I change 1333 MHz to upgrade

  1. I suppose you could, but it would be pointless. Your real app speed might change by 1-2%.
    Adding ram would likely be of benefit if you are a big multitasker, and you have a 64 bit os.

    If that much. If your laptop is setup for 1066 RAM, faster RAM would just run at 1066 speed.

  3. Your bios will most likely automatically identify the type of ram in your system and set its timing parameters accordingly.

    Mind you, your system will set those timings according to the slowest ram module, and for dual channel to work, many systems require that the ram modules be identical.

    With that said, you should experience a noticeable difference...

    1333/1066 = 25% INCREASE IN THE SPEED/BANDWIDTH OF MEMORY OPERATIONS.

  4. Yes, memory benchmarks will increase nicely.
    Unfortunately, it does not translate into faster app performance or FPS.
