Hi, I just need some help with any changes with my build before my purchase.
It will be for med-high gaming and daily use, mostly future proofing too.

ASRock 890-GX Extreme 3 Motherboard
AMD AM3 Phenom II x6 1055t
Kingston 2GB x 2 1333
Antec 300 Gaming Case
Antec 750W True Power
Windows 7 OS 64 bit
9800 GT EVGA (from previous PC, still in good condition)

These are from an Australia website www.msy.com.au (if your looking at availability, select "Locate Branch" and pick any from NSW)

Thanks!

There really isn't future proofing in that system.
Mobo won't work with bulldozer and the GPU is already outdated. GPU is single most important component of a gaming system.

You're using a workstation CPU for gaming, why? Get a phenom II x4.

No mention of HD, so not sure if you need one.

No model number or latency on the RAM, so no idea which kit it is.

Also, you should fill out the form in the sticky, link in my sig.

I don't upgrade that very often, so when I purchase this build I will use it till it dies or near death. I don't buy new upgrades whenever new ones come out. I'd be pretty content with this build, so I don't see the need for me to buy BD when it comes out as it is still a while and it would be $$ when it comes out.

Would the Phenom II x4 965 be better? Why not the 6 core? (currently the 965 is sold out at www.msy.com.au, thats why I picked the 6 core.)

Yes I will be using my old HD.

The RAM is 1333Mhz

What I mean by future proofing is not having to buy new parts because its cheap and will be able to keep up with games coming out, provided I get a better GPU later in the future.

Hexacores perform poorly in gaming. Three cores is all you need for gaming and AMD hexacore means same power and interface bandwidth being shared by 6 cores instead of 4, hence, lower gaming performance.

What cas latency is the RAM?

Depending upon how old your HD is, you may need a new one. Using an old HD is a perfect way to make a brand new computer run like crap.

Fill out the form in the sticky.

Isn't there turbo boost on the x6?

I'm not sure about the latency as the website is down atm.

The HD is about 2 years old.
