hi guys , people recently talking about 6 series of ATI . i wanted to have list of new incoming 6 series & details about it . JUST wanted to know theire place ( for example 5850 's place is like this : higher than 5770 & 4890 & 5830 & lower than 5870 & 5970 ) . if some one have any IDA about those Products then please tell me , thanks .

Many people will discount your data as merely rumors, but my understanding is exactly the same as yours after reading several reports and leaks. The new cards, the 6850 and 6870, that will be announced next week will be mid-range cards intended to compete with the GTX460, and will not be widely available until November. The higher end 69xx cards are the ones that will compete with the GTX470/480. They have no release dates and much more speculation associated with them. The 6000 series will outperform their 5000 series counterparts and will do a much better job with DirectX 11 rendering, specifically tesselation. Now it's time to wait and see.

Yup. It's just a matter of time. Here's some predictions.

Ok now i know their place & rates , now how prices will be after they get realesed ! i mean for example if 6870 is higher than 5850 how much will it COST ? ( higher than 5850 ? )

Ask that question after it's been released and put on sale, or just pick a number at random.

Lots of people are speculating on their performance but no-one really knows for sure and won't do until the cards are released and lots of benchies are run and evaluated.

Clearly, from AMD's perspective, a little hype (or a lot) is a good thing. I mean, there are how many comment threads, news leaks, debates, discussions going on; not just at the Tom's Hardware site, but pretty much throughout the tech community. And all this over a couple of mid-ranged cards that will see a "launch" next week, but only on paper.

I would say that translates into a lot of free advertising, and a lot of people holding off and/or re-considering their purchase of a card from Nvidia. But obviously we just eat this stuff up, so Good Job AMD!

The last set of "supposed" numbers I saw were not all that exciting really.

Those are only "supposed" numbers that I saw earlier today and they've already been pulled from one of the sites that I saw them on so I wouldn't advise anyone to get too excited or disappointed by them, whichever of those floats your boat.

The name change has really thrown people for a loop. Suddenly, the new mid-range looks like it should be the high end, and people are excited to see the crowning of a new king. It looks like that won't be the case.

If the 6900 series cards come out in 2011, there's good possibility they will be going head to head with the new generation cards from Nvidia. But I don't think either wants to be the first to release their high-end cards. That would just to give the other company a target to shoot for and surpass. Kind of seems like an arms race. He who laughs last, wins.

In many ways, the 6800 series release is a response to the popularity of the GTX460. It is also a correction to the relatively poor DirectX 11 performance of the 5000 series. So you could say that AMD is being reactionary, rather than taking the first step into new territory.

For it's response, Nvidia has indicated that they have their own ammunition to keep things competitive this holiday season, like lowering prices, but also including the release of fully functional GTX 465, 475, 485, etc. For some reason those leaks have not caused such rabid speculation and near-euphoric vindication.
