A HD 5770 will be fine for your resolution. The HD 5850 can be considered a slight overkill, but should you decide to upgrade to a higher resolution monitor, then you will be good to go.

A 1000w PSU is way, way overkill. Since you are not overclocking and a single video card is more than enough for your monitor, a good quality 500w is more than enough. I recommend PSUs sold by Seasonic, XFX, Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, and Antec.

Of course if you wanna brag that you have a 1000w PSU to your friends, then that's your business...
