So I just got a nice new media pc. It was working great until suddenly it seems like everything that records becomes choppy to the point of being unwatchable. It starts out recording well and within 5 minutes, its a mess.

I know the cable feed is working well.
I know the computer is powerful enough to be recording hdtv.

AMD PHENOM II X6 1055T 2.8GHZ
4GB DDR3 / 1600 MHZ MEMORY
ATI RADEON 5670 1GB PCIE
AVERMEDIA AVERTV COMBO G2 TV TUNER CA
I also added a second avermedia card in order to record 2 hdtv shows simultaneously.

This has got me very frustrated and peeved.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

HDD write speed is lacking, test the HDD and send us the results, you're either low on disk space in you page file drive or then it's the same drive on which the recording is happening.

I agree with alyoshka.... it sounds like a possible HDD issue
