Is a 4 core/8 thread processor better than a 2 core/4 even if the clock apeed is

Hello,
I am comparing the intel i7-2620M and the i7-2720qm processors. The 2620 has a clock speed of 2.7 (3.4 turbo),bus/core ratio of 27 and the 2720 has a clock speed of 2.2 (3.3 turbo), bus/core ration of 22. Which one is faster? I want this on a laptop that I can play games such as starcraft 2 on. Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure about the graphics specs on the processors because both chips have integrated graphics. I found the following specs:
both have: integrated hd graphics with dynamic frequency (??), graphic base frequency 650 MHz, Max dynamic frequency 1.3 GHz.

It is either INTEL HD 3000 or HD 2000, they are both low on the gaming list. If gaming is the object with the laptop it is better to spend more money on the GPU than the CPU.

Also, should I be looking at dual core as well if the clock speed is higher (assuming the graphic specs are comparable)? I may have a web browser running, itunes and a game, if that much.

The GT540m is substantially more powerful. In the GPU gaming link I posted before you can scroll down and mark both and then restrict to do a direct comparison in multiple games.
