2 different speeds of RAM in one machine?

Hello everyone.

I currently have 8GB of Ripjaw 1666MHz RAM installed in my PC.

I have some other RAM from an old PC too. I am not sure of the speed but I know it's lower than the Ripjaws.

Basically, if i install both sets of RAM, will my Ripjaws run at 1666MHz, and my other RAM run at the speed they are, or will my slower RAM pull the Ripjaws down to that speed?

Your slower RAM will pull down the speed of the faster module. Unless you can convince it to OC to match... You would have to manually set the speeds and hope that the older module can take it.

Otherwise it will default to the slower speed.
