More about will probleamm motherboard
  1. No. If there's a problem, you'll get bluescreens with a memory address issue. The ram may also run with slower timings at the lower voltage, but no damage to the motherboard will occur. You may also change from "auto" to "manual" and set the voltage at 1.65 volts. Some boards will allow you to change the voltage while the ram is set to auto.

  3. i have currently 8gb ram, if i put 8gb more ram will i get some benefit for gaming and multitasking.? please let me know
  4. Humm,

I thought that it was the CPU's that had the 1.5v limit not the motherboard it self.

Like in my case, i have the P7P55D Pro with an 1157 Intel I7 875K CPU.
The CPU spec states the Memory should not be run higher then 1.5v.
The memory i put in runs at 1.5v but to overclock at top speed i have to go to 1.55v and i get a warning if i try and set the voltage at 1.55v.

What Motherboard and CPU are you running.
  5. His board is a gigabyte 970a-d3 which is for amd cpus. Amd boards have no ram voltage limit that I know of.
