Is the x4 840 phenom 2 backward compatible with am2 m3a78em board

hi i just bought a phenom x4 840 i want to know if is backward compatible with my asus m3a78-em board with 4 gb ddr 2 800 ram

I do not see it on their CPU support list but being a recent add to the Propus line of CPU´s I believe it will work just like an overclocked slower one would! http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=KjpYqzmAd9vsTM2D
Just make sure you have the latest BIOS.
