Hp pavillion dv5 screen

Hello,
I have the DV5-1002NR and it is 3 months out of warranty. The screen flickered a little after 3 months and now it does it more. Plus sometimes there is a blue hue to the screen while it is at a certain angle. HP just told me that it would be 400 to fix plus shipping. Any suggestions? I have read about a connection issue to the lcd screen.

I'd say dump it and buy another monitor. However I have to ask are you using VGA to connect your monitor and using the latest display drivers provided by HP?
