Approximate Purchase Date: 1-2 months (December 2010, January 2011)

Budget Range: (e.g.: 2000 max)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (Applications-Adobe CS4, Maya, Word processing, etc; Gaming; Video/Audio Encoding; Music; Internet; Watching movies)

Parts Not Required: (keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Open to suggestion

Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: Motherboard: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
CPU: Phenom II X6-1100T (or suggested component)
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD5850 Crossfire configuration
Case: Open to suggestion
Cooling: Open to suggestion
Power: Open to suggestion

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Yes

Monitor Resolution: 1280x1024

Additional Comments: Quiet PC is possible. I prefer AMD to Intel, though I am not adverse to Intel if it proves to be better for applications like Adobe and animation rendering. I am interested in the hexa-core processors. If there is a cheaper graphics card configuration, or single card, that can handle high end illustrations and video animation, I am open to suggestions. This computer is intended for high end medical illustration/animation and gaming, as well as video game designing. If anyone should see an conflicts with what little I have now, please do let me know. Thank you.

Forgot to add:
Do I go with DDR2 or DDR3, and which brand? I like Cosair, but is there something better? For storage device I go with WD Caviar Black 1 TB. They've worked well for me so far. Or should I go with solid state drives?

First Thing is you have a Intel mobo with a AMD CPU ( Wont work less you get a big hammer ) < / joke
2nd you dont need to xfire 2 HD 5850 for the rez monitor

You will want DDR3 for your system corsair gskill ( are some good brands )

For the HDD ( with your needs for the PC you might look into a SSD drive for your OC and programs maybe a swap drive and a large storage drive.

Gets big hammer ready...hehehhe...Good point. I haven't built a system in 8 years. I'm way behind the times.

For a Hexacore Set up i would just hit 1055T + OC (air) and just the single GTX 570?-batuchka

Sounds like a good idea!

Any recommendations for a good mobo then, for a Phenom 1055T?

That MSI 870A-G54 is good to go if SLI/CF is not a deal breaker with bells/whistles of SATA/USB 3.0 to boot ^^

Not a deal breaker at all. If one card can do the work, then so be it. MSI? I have an MSI with my current computer. It's an old, old, old Athlon 64 3500 with an mobo MSI NeoPlatinum 2. Hehehehe.

Looks like a good mobo. I don't think it would have trouble with the 1055 hexacore, right?

Damn straight! A PSP would be an upgrade! :D  It's given me what it has been able to, but with the new games and CS4, it is showing that it can no longer keep up.

Niklas_13,

You're good. Damn good. Hehehehe. I'm liking the specs on that.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!
