How do you turn on Intel Smart Response Technology on Maximus IV GeneZ

Hi!

I've been trying to turn on Intel's Smart Response Technology on my recent build. The problem is, I don't know how to do it. The manual that comes with the motherboard is not that great at giving you step by step instructions. You have to jump from one page to another to set up SRT.

Help!I've been told by ASUS that I have to uninstall Windows 7 and enable RAID0 in order to do so.

I thought that this was supposed to be an easy set up.

I had the same issue on a gigabyte board. I gave up..
But yes you have to set up a raid. It didnt show up on my destop unit I did that. Once I did, it showed up. I was setting it up to use the ssd 60gb to run my os and another to use for the smart response buffer..

Now, i have two ssd drives with either. I felt windows, all its updates and my virus protection program filled 52 gb of space. I didnt feel confortable enough with that.

Here's instructions. http://download.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/intel_smart_response_technology_user_guide.pdf You don't have to uninstall windows, you should have been in ahci mode by default which is a subset of raid. Although with a 64gb ssd, I'd recommend not using isrt. If it's taking 52GB you need to limit you system restore size or disable it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I turned RAID MODE on in the BIOS and installed windows again. It works like magic.
