Limit Internet use per user?

Now that we have a cable connection my kids would liveon line IM’ing. I need to limit their use as far as cutting them off at 9:45 pm on school nights. I think our router can do it, but we are just using one computer and it looks like the router can only block certain computers. I am running XPpro with 4 user accounts. Two of the accounts need the limits. Any Ideas?

Thanks
Todd

Bandwidth limiting or locking out is not possible on a per user basis via a router. You would need either some 3rd party app or a domain controller. I can't think of any apps that would do that and you probably don't want a domain controller runnin 24/7 in ur house :)
Unless some 3rd party app can be found I don't think you are going to have much luck with this :(

Folken is correct. Seperate user accounts on the same PC will all use the same dynamic or static IP address, which is what a router would rely on to block internet access.

You'll need to look for software to do this.
