Pure gaming PC only

i was wondering how much and what spec's a pc would have that ONLY needed to play games. I know it would need a nice GPU but how about for the cpu and things?

It depends on the games you want to play and what rez you want to play them at, Do you have any parts ATM ? OS / MOUSE / KB / MONITOR / SPEEKERS ?

For the PC only with a OS for a rez of 1080 your looking at about 700 to 1100 for a gaming rig.

sorry i guess i got ahead of myself there, i only need an OS, I have a 22in 1050p monitor and would try to use it on my 46in 1080p tv. I have a keyboard and mouse, just need the parts and os really.

What kind of budget do you have ? and what games ?

Are you into OCing ? do you want a option to Xfire or sli down the road or a single GPU setup is ok ?

i don't think i would want to go over 700, mainly RTS and FPS like Empire and crysis (a bit old I know, but a favorite)

single GPU is fine for me as long as it does the job. Seeing as I;ve never OCed before I'm kinda hesitating on saying yes, however I could look into it.
