I do not want another p67 or 2500k setup so please stick to the question I am asking.

I have never owned an evga mobo but there video cards IMO are the best and i love there Rma and customer support. I know nothing about these i7's all i know is that for 300$ it looks like myt best choice.

Because of the P67 issue? Thats why he's downgrading?

He won't reply to me because he already knows i think he's a moron

Lol, you can think what you want yes, i dont want to deal with being jacked around by asus and newegg anymore this goes alot deeper then just the recall issue, i dont have to tell you my life story if you dont want to help me on the thread with what i asked then please dont post.

Sick of you 1155 fanatics shoving this down my throat.

I dont care what anyone says a cpu is only as good as what you use it for. for decoding and running photoshop and compression files which is what i do now that 2500k didnt do that well for gaming yes. I think the i7 or quad core server cpus are going to do better for what i need now gaming is not my main thing anymore.

This is how i look at it first of the recall sucked but that didn't stop me from wanting a good replacement it was asus calling me telling me that there will not be replacements till April or so that was ok then they told me not to talk to new egg new egg called saying they could ship out my product from new egg around 1 week from now so i would have a replacement, then asus called and said they will not warranty my new mobo unless i get it thought there rma program, new egg told me this was wrong and now because of a issue like this they are not going to help me so i said screw this sent the board and cpu back to newegg for a credit refund and i need to buy new stuff i refuse to go 1155 because of this call this reason stupid or not i am going to buy slower 1366 technology at least this stuff is proven solid i am so sick of having to reinstall windows and take all of this stuff apart so much the silver-stone raven rv01 case is a nightmare to do this in I'm sick of it i want something that works and for me the 2500k was overkill i play games once in awhile and i have a gtx 580 and i could care less about wasting my time overclocking there is my reason i am not going to go over this with you again.

Ok just to cut this short so that the arguing ends.
My suggestion is that you get the 950 and over clock it to at least 4ghz.
Get a really good cpu cooler Hper212+ should work.
You should be able to do what you want to do fine.
Go with some good 1600 memory at least 12 gigs for what you want to do.
Any thing above 1600 really is just good for numbers.
That cpu memory combo should let you do your job and game.
You can always add another 580 down the line if you want and you should be set for quite a while.
Of course there is always something new on the horizon like the 2011 chipsets but as you want to build now go with the 950.
If you can justify it and want the added cores You could always look at the 980 if you want.
So in the end your mother board choice 950 cpu and 12 gig mem should run well.

Thanks man really, here is the question i dont understand for some odd reason my dad insits i get that mobo adn the 960 so with that setup what ram would you get i dont get how triple channel works.

Ok well if its only $20.00 more and it maks your dad happy its no big deal you can use the same board and memory and still hit 4ghz.
Triple channel is just like dual channel except 1 more channel in there.
To take advantage of it you would need at least 3 memory boards.
It is faster than single channel because it utilizes the memory faster.
If you went with 3 4gig mem modules it would be faster than if you went to 6 2gig memory modules and use a little less power. Also if you populate all 6 memory slots it some times will set your memory command rate to 2T instead of 1T.
Unless your just benching you really will not notice much of a difference.
But as X58 is set up for triple why not utilize it.
For more indepth explanation of triple and dual channel mem just google as it would take a whole page to do a defined
explanation and comparisome.

so can i fill all 6x ram slots and it will still run triple channel or do i need odd numbers----so according to new egg to take advantage of trip channel i need to have only 3 sticks? in every other slot??

Please let me know if you think this will all work perfectly together, also if you would try to figure out if this ram will fit under the Coolermaster v10 please let me know, **note the v10 will fit on the motherboard even though evga has a big heatsink i know this much**

That thing is huge Only thing I can say is that if it doesn't fit over the ram or in the case you could always use your h50. I mean the h50 isnt bad per say its just not much better than air cooling but it does have a smaller footprint above the cpu.
