hello all.

so the thing is this.

i have a 23" Gateway monitor...this one

that i love............accompanied by the same model but a 20 "er right next to it. this one

looks great, feels great blah blah lol....anyways, so the thing is that....when i play an HD movie on it (720 - 1080 but more 720p) it looks meh!
you know, like dvd quality....ive played some 1080p video and looks real good but................

when i take those same flicks and stream them to my 42hdtv via ps3.........the thing looks like if i was there when they were making the movie.........looks like an hd 1080p flick should.

so my ? is, what am i doing wrong? why does supposed hd content look like ol school dvd.
even when i go on hulu (plus) and play hd content, it looks okay...........but when i play that same stream to my tv it looks SHARP!

not sure whats going on.

OH OH PS. im running a gtx 470 and also dvi cable, tried hdmi aswell (same thing ) and nada.

Are you saying 720p stuff looks bad MOST of the time on your 23" Gateway?

And 1080p looks good MOST of the time on your 23" Gateway?

Could be your 42hdtv is better at 720p than your 23" Gateway is.

Do you get the same results on your 20" Gateway?

as far as what i use to play back my stuff....i ONLY use VLC player.

as far as flicks, all of it looks for example, i have black hawk down on dvd and looks pretty decent on tv.....i have digital vrs of same movie but in 720p, looks like the dvd on the 23 and on the 20............just doesnt look sharp.

now when i stream that same flick to the tv via ps3mediaserver...........thing is a BEAST!.....looks amazing.

not sure why it is like it is......

and yes, i get the same results on the 20"er...actually, if anyhing, sometimes, the 20" loks a bit better since i guess its smaller but yeah...........
