Hi there.
One cross European company called Pixmania.com has a development center
for digital photos called myPixmania.com.

I have bought a camera from them, and was very pleased with the price
and service. They sent me SMS when the package was ready for pick up,
and ordinary shops, even 6 months later, has trouble to beat the price.

I decided to take some pictures to development on their site as prices
were not too bad and experience was good. I did a package of 100
copies, uploaded 100, 2 days later DHL was on the door. They were
pretty accurate with the cropping and of good glossy Fuji quality. Only
problem was that I got 98 pictures back... After a few emails for about
two weeks or so, I got a promotion code and requested the missing
pictures and a few more I got extra.

Later I decided to develop some more and uploaded more than 520
pictures. In return 3 days later I got 495, resulting that they had
lost 25 copies. Not only it took me hours to find which ones that were
missing, it has now taken about a month without an answer on how to get
the missing 25 copies.

This experience was pretty sad, as I was mounting a photoalbum to my
parents (that we see one-two times a year) as a xmas gift of my sons
birth and first year and most of the pictures missing were the first
ones - so I had to give an album with a lot of empty space in the
beginning of the album - hoping we will soon be able to fill the
missing space..

Additional, it took me more than a month and several emails to get the
"free picture gift" (free development of 10-15 pictures) with the
camera I bought. It is just a small thing, but it happen while I tried
to get the missing two copies, and became determined to have them.

I just want to know if somebody else had the same experience with this
company (or others for that sake), and if they did, did you get it
solved?

Thanks for reading,
best regards

If you're going to start printing off digital pictures at standard sizes -
say postcard (100x148mm) think about getting a dedicated printer for this
size and smaller prints. You can run off half a dozen in 10 minutes and it's
probably cheaper than trying Pixmania.
Check out the pros and cons and save yourself some major headaches.

Word of warning keep off the Canon Selphy - It is very expensive to
run - here in Australia they charge $ 42 for 36 shots and then you are
warned not to break off too many times as you may run out of ink
before you are out of paper. It means that you do not print until you
have at least 12 pictures or so before you start printing. You might
just get away with 6 x 6 pictures - I have not tried that.

I now cut my A4 in three pieces of postcard size and print using the
Canon Pixma. You need a decent guillotine to do the cutting.
