Hdmi port

hi guys im getting a new monitor for my gaming build, would it benefit me getting a monitor with an hdmi port for gaming? i am currently looking at this monitor SAMSUNG® BX2335 LED LCD - 23" Wide, 16:9 HD, 1920x1080, 2ms Response Time, 5,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio, 250cd/m² Bright - D-SUB, DVI

On a Personal note, ive seen a change from going from VGA (DVI Adapter on GPU) to HDMI.

The picture is sharper and feels more defined then my previous. Games seem better at all, but not sure if it does make any difference, just looks sharper and better quality.

Both Res's were at 1920x1080 on a 32" LG TV though, not so sure on a PC monitor?
