Hey guys quick question, so today my gtx 560 ti twin frozr came in to replace my old ati 4850 card, runs great and all like I expected but causes my amd phenom II x4 955 to run over safe temp at 64C + (62C is safe).

Is there anything I can do to make my temp go down while gaming while my Hyper 212+ gets delivered?

Any help would be appreciated, as I don't feel safe playing under these temperatures of my cpu, thanks !

I received a full tower case from a friend long ago not sure the make, but the air flow is fine, it's cold as Shhh(winter in Canada :p) in my room and I have like 6 fans going. Nothing has changed but the cpu temps, all i did was replace a 4850 with a gtx 460. If anything shouldn't it have been hotter before seeing how my 4850 ran at 94+C gaming and this gtx 560 runs at 40 C full load.

Would voltage have something to do with it ? I have a gx coolermaster 650w psu is that suffice ?

But once again can I do anything to drop these temps while my heatsink comes in? thanks for the reply.

Here are my specs btw so you can maybe determine more:

amd phenom II x5 955 be
gtx 560 ti twin frozr oc
asus m4a evo mobo
4gb g.skill ripjaws
500gb hdd
gx coolermaster 650w psu
win 7 64bit ultimate

I will check to make sure everything is plugged in correctly, I'm sure it's all good though. Outside of playing Rift i see 47C idle for my cpu, once ingame jumps to 64+.. However you say it's safe butI don't wanna risk it, what if it damages you know?

Do you think the card being stock OC has any affect on it or perhaps voltage went wrong? Or anything I can do in BIOS to better it? Thanks for hanging around.

it's the only game i currently play, im going to load up starcraft 2 a check. But yeah, Im being told by others as well as you that 70+ would be a safe spot to stop, yet im still a tad hesitant, im going to see if i can undervolt in bios at all.
