The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable xp

Hello, I have just reformatted my sony vaio pcg-7q1m, operating windows xp, and when i go to start it up i get an error message saying "the filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect" and then the machine restarts itself and it just continues on in this loop. Pleeeeeeeeeeease help!!

Try doing a repair install of windows on it!
