My son has given me a Radeon X1950 Pro graphics card. PCI Express.
When I start the PC, the graphics card fan does not come on.
I have left it on for about five minutes but I am worried that it may overheat without a fan turning. Is it possible that it is temperature controlled and will not start until a preset temperature is reached?

Any help would be greatly appreciated from a rather old codger,

The fan should come on (most of the time full speed) on startup until the drivers take over and govern the fan speed based on temperature. Check if the fan is properly connected to power.

Thanks for that Rolli, the fan doesn't move at all so I reckon it's a bin job.
