Connecting 2 Computers

I was wondering if there is a way to take 2 computers, both fairly new running XP Proffesional, and tie them together to work as one. I have gigabit cards in both, and a crossover cable, and I don't know if its possible. I want to be able to use both without a KVM switch and sort of use them "together".

If you mean something like clustering them I don't believe that is possible with windows xp, you would have to go to linux. Even then all it is good for is large processing projects, gaming really wouldn't be possible on a cluster.
You wouldn't want to use a crossover cable if they both have gigabit adaptors. A crossover would only allow 10/100 speeds, a straight through would provide 10/100/1000 speeds. That is only the case with gigabit adaptors.
