If you have any thrift shops (Humane Society, Goodwill, places for the elderly) in the area, go check 'em out.

They get old pc donated, and if they don't sell 'em, they kick em to the curb for garbage p/u. Call them up and find when they do that. In my area it's Saturday after they close.
