Hey guys! So I recently purchased a cheap computer from CraigsList to use temporarily. Specs right now:

Video Card: Ge Force 7900 GS
Processor: AMD Athlon 64
Mobo: Tried 2 softwares but couldn't find out what it was. (Socket 939)
Ram: 2 GB GSkill Ram
PSU: ENERMAX Liberty ELT500AWT 500W

I bought this for just a hundred dollars so I got what I paid for. I was going to upgrade this slowly, but decided I would get the main operators out of the way first. This is what I have came up with so far.

Mobo/CPU Bundle [164.99] http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ940XCJ4DGI - OEM
ASUS M4A785-M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Ram [29.99] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
GeIL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model GX22GB6400LX

I was going to use the same PSU and the on board graphics (ATI Radeon 4200) which are not bad for on board I heard.

Please let me know any improvements I can do to make this better (or cheaper!). I am trying to stay under 200 for now, but later I am going to upgrade the video card.

Thanks!

Go For The DDR3 Ram
Instead Of Phenom X4 Go For Athlon X4/X3

i would upgrade the psu first.
unless you trust the brand thats in there get a new one.
if its a shotty brand your entire computer could be gone.

This is a stupid question but if the power supply does blow up my parts will they replace them? Or am I just screwed?

they most certainly will not. plus if you bought it used off of craigslist even if the warranty covered something like that you likely wouldn't have the warranty anyway.
