I've got both cases. The Corsair 800D is far quieter than the HAF-X...

The stock 140mm fans in the Corsair 800D are almost dead silent. I added three (3) 120mm to the top of the case ghostly quiet.

I can play Metro 2033 for hours and the fans on GPUs don't even ramp up. Nor does the fan on the PS.....

The HAF-X moves tons of air, and you can hear it moving....

Cooler Master HAF-X
i7-950 w/Noctura cooler
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 MB
6Gb Corsair 1600 RAM
SLI pair of MSI Talon Attack 460s
WD Raptor 300Gb 10k HD
Corsair HX850 PS

Corsair 800D
i7-930 w/Venomous X cooler
ASUS MB
6Gb Corsair 1600 RAM
Crossfire pair of Sapphire Vapor-X 5870
Corsair HX850 PS

If any of your components are on air, I recommend the HAF-X hands down(also substantially cheaper)

If you are going to water cool the CPU AND GPU, then the 800D is good too.

Basically, the HAF-X is the cadillac of air cooling cases, that also has very good mount options for water cooling, as well as other amenities.

The 800D inhibits airflow in comparison the HAF-X and costs a bit more(I think $100 more)

I've worked with the HAF-X a few times, and it will be my next case.

How loud are the stock fans in that case.

With the i7-920 overclocked to 4Ghz running Prime95 I hit 70C. The Venomous-X cooler has two Noctura 120mm fans on it.

NOTE: I found that I flipping the stock rear 140mm case fan to an INtake lowered by CPU temps by about 5C (I just bought a magnetic frame filter to slap over it to keep the dust down.

The 5870's running in the low 70's after hours of playing Metro 2033. I believe it's important to note; the Sapphire Vapor-X card exhaust some air out the back of the case. And, blow some out the front edge of the card. There is a fan directly below that point in the metal separator between the power supply chamber and main CPU camber. This fan blows the hot air off the end of the GPUs straight up & out of the case very efficiently.

There are many GPUs that don't exhaust their heat outside the case. Those may cause heat problems with an 800D case as there is not the huge, overkill about of fresh air intake on this case as their is with the HAF-X
