New i7 950 Build

Hello!

Just wanna say thanks to everyone's input in advance!

Okay, My friend wants me to put together a Intel gaming rig together tonight and he really wants it tonight so.
He wants mainly Intel and Nvidia Graphics card and his budget is $1300 give or take.

CPU - intel i7 950
Motherboard - Asus Sabertooth x58
Case - Haf X
These are bundled from Newegg @ http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.568516

Memory - Corsair Dominator http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145295
HDD - Samsung F3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185&cm_re=samsung_f3-_-22-152-185-_-Product

Graphics Card - EVGA GTX 470 (He doesn't need this, as I am giving him mine)

So mainly I need help picking out a good Modular Power supply for him that while give him breathing room for future upgrades like 470 SLI

Also, since his motherboard comes with 6Gb/s SATA port should I bother getting something like the Western Digital 1TB Black 6Gb/s HDD or just stick with Samsung F3 1TB?

More about build
  1. Also forgot he needs a heatsink/cooler for his processor so.. I was thinking Megahalems

What kind of fans should i throw on those.

And What kind of CD/DVD burner should I throw on that? I have bought couple in the past and they have all been really loud and annoying when it starts to kick up.
  2. ^ Nice parts, but you sure you want to spend that much on the case ?? You could save some money and maybe invest in a SSD,...

RAM - A very good deal on the RAM,...

HDD - SATA 6GB/s for a HDD wont matter, so save money and stick with the F3

CPU Cooler - Check out the Thermalright Silver Arrow,...
Or if you want to stick with the Megalems, then get from Amazon - its cheaper and free shipping

    Fans for those -

DVD - Check the reviews and then buy,... If it has a noise issue, then it would certainly be specified in most of the reviews,...
This seems to be highly reviewed

  6. ^ The prices will stay the same for sure, as they always have been,...
And if getting the i7 from there, then get this mobo + CASE combo
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.567569

And currently @newegg, the F3 1TBs are priced @ $55, not sure how long they will stay though,...

yea i was looking at that but i dont see the board offering much spacing between the cards, if he runs SLI in the future.

yea im def. gonna purchase the F3 for that price
  8. ^ Well even the UD3R offers similar setup when going SLI as to take full advantage of the x16x16, you would have to populate the 1st and the 3rd slot,...
  9. i7 950 only 200$ @ microcenter
