If i put my Averatec 5500 laptop (brand new!) to sleep twice - not
once, but twice - it can't wake up. I have to hold down the power
button to turn it off, then when I turn it back on it doesn't recognize
my hard drive while booting up. Also, it freezes up while resuming from
hibernation. Has anyone ever heard of this or experienced this, or is
my hard drive just a lemon?

My friends had a Averatec tablet and it did the same thing, she
eventually returned it and bought a different brand.

Go to Power Options in the control panel and reset your system to
always on, etc...
