DVD Drives

Looking for advice on a good IDE DVD drive. I've been using LG... until I got a bad one from new egg.

If you can find Plextor, what I see on Newegg is LiteOn, LG and Asus to me they are all the same quality, then this TEAC drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827139053 higher quality drive at a large price premium.

I've had excellent results with Liteon, LG, Acer, and panasonic. Too bad you didnt live close by, i've 2 or 3 IDE units sittin on my floor.

Just grab any 4 or 5 egg burner you find on newegg. They do honor their warranty and I never expect a $20 drive to last me a year but several have exceeded my expectations.

I personally like the Pioneer drives. I have several and they always give me good burns.

I have had some cheapo drives last for ever, last year i replaced the liteon drive(IDE) in my rig with a plextor one(sata), the plextor drive is dead silent, the lite on was pretty reliable and lasted 4 or 5 years surprisingly considering it was a $20 unit i grabbed in best buy.
