First one my current Cpu. And the second one is the cheapest new Amd Cpu i can find on my country. Is it worth to upgrade to new AMD II X2 250 or stick with current one buy an used AGP graphic card(yes i know all about PCI is better AGP is dead etc.).

What is the performance gap between too? Cause if ugrade i should buy new motherboard, new RAM, new GPU maybe new Power Supply too.

I was referring to the PCI Express :)

And yes it is 130nm. But still it handles many things quite effectively. The real thing i wanna learn is how much Athlon II X2 is faster than Athlon 2500+. Is it %100 or %200 or %50? I think there are no benchmarks out there. But i want an approximate guess from our CPU expert friends.

What about AMD 64? Compared to 2500.

Damn a guy sold EPOX 8KDA3J + AMD 64 2.8 + 2 GB DDR400 to a mere 67$.
Plus a HD3850 to 67$ too. I have just seen it. Too bad.

Normally they sell 1 GB DDR400 at least to 33$.

I'll explain the situation.

I am going to buy a new Sandy Bridge pc to my brother. But i want to improve this pc a little as well. Cause i love old games and use linux and i can make my every job on it this pc is good.

If i buy a new cpu, i will buy a new mobo, psu, ram etc. And i will cost something. The other option is to upgrade this pc cheap as i can.

Yeah, I was just about to look up the PassMark scores, hats off to jj463rd....

You start to "notice" a system is faster when you increase the speed by 2x. I've tested this by upgrading the computers for my entire department. In this situation the speed is increased by 4x when going to an AMD Athlon X2 250..... should "feel" much faster...
