More about asus g51jx video card upgrade
  1. It should be possible since the GPU is a mini card and the socket supports faster CPU's. Is it cost effective is the main question, those parts are usually high priced and not readily available in retail!
  2. Thanks for replying rolli59!

I'm sure you're right about the cost. Do you know of a place where they would sell parts of this nature?
I'm not overly concerned about the cost (well, to a point anyway). I'm a tech and will pretty much doing it for the experience and the fun.
  3. I have seen the CPU's in stores using Google shopping. The GPU's I have seen on ebay although not a great selection then of course at the OEM's.
  4. One of the first things I tried was eBay and typed in asus g51jx. A bunch of things came up like replacement screens and keyboards but no video cards.
    Unless I'm searching wrong.

As I said before not a good selection and you would have to find something that fits you might have to rely on Asus for that bit.
  6. I found one on this guys site but can't get one just yet.
Apparently he must have received a bad batch so he suggested I wait a bit. What he did have in stock, he sent back to the distributor.

Thank you very much for your feedback though. It is greatly appreciated!
