Best Intel MoBo and CPU combination

Hello, my system components,including RAM ", are all compatible with the new Core and Sandy Bridge MoBo's and CPU's. I need something faster than my Q6600 2.4GHz MoBo base system. I have about $500 - $600 in my budget. I currently have 4GB of DDR3 RAM. I would like to move to either an i5 or i7 CPU and MoBo. A any suggestions would be appreciated.

Since you have DDR3 then you should be able to reuse all other components. I5 2500K with a P67 motherboard if you are planning on gaming.
