Hi, all,

I had a seven old Pentium 4 PC, which is reaching its retirement age. I'm planning to build a budget barebone PC, which can support web browsing, office work, photo shop. I hope the new build will perform better than current old P4 setup. Due to my limited knowledge in IT equipments, I'm afraid that the hardware components I bought will not work with each other in the end.

My setup is:

99.98£ : AMD Quad Core Phenom II X4 925 2.8GHz Socket AM3
54.99£ : Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
38.73£ : Asus M4A78LT-M AMD 760G (amazon special price)
16.99£ : A Micro ATX case
14.99£ : Novatech 450W ATX Power Supply for AMD and Intel Motherboard
225.69£ : in Total

With the barebone, I will attach my old DVD-ROM, DVD-RW and 1 old SATA drive.

My primary concerns are:

1) Will Corsair DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz be working well with Phenom II X4 925?
2) Phenom II X4 925 includes a cooling fan but do I need to buy a more powerful cooling fan for the AMD X4?
3) Is 450W powerful enough to drive the motherboard and its attachments.

Would you please help comment on my plan?

Thanks in advance

yikes do not ever buy a 15£. 450W would be enough to power your system but you need to get a quality PSU.

I would like to help you but I need more information. Which website are you purchasing these parts from?

Thanks amk09. With your adjustment, they still stay in my budget. Corsair got 2 more SATA connectors.

Do you know what kind of memory work well with Athlon x4 640?
