My lap topscreen is blank, could this be the motherboard?

When I turned on my lap top this morning the keys would not work, so I shut it down and rebooted. Now the screen is black. Could this be the mother board?

Could be the hardrive, motherboard, or power supply going out. Hard to say. Laptop boards are proprietary so you may have to pay to have it tested before spending on a used board. Laptop boards are only manufacturered for a short time so any replacement new or used can be expensive. Sometimes it's best to pull the hardrive out and sell off the parts and start over.
