Hey guys,

I am using an asus p5n-e sli mobo. So today i messed around with the auto overclock feature in the bios. Set it at 10%. When i leave the bios, it freezes at the splash screen there.

I waited about an hour, turned my comp back on and it got past the splash screen for a second then immediately shut off. Now it is just shutting off in 5-10 seconds everytime i turn it on.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great, thanks.

I would reset the bios. Unplug the power supply and gently press on the clip holding the board battery until it pops up slightly. Remove and replace in about one minute. If you want to overclock, try setting the ram in manual mode to 667 and the cpu fsb higher by about 20%.

if your using a p67 mobo. this can be a real issue i recently got my p67 board and it had the same problem when i overclocked the ram. the board started to have an infinite boot up cycle just every 10 secs would turn off and recent so i sent it back turns out the bus lanes to the ram had short circuited. this could be your problem ?
