Hi, I've got a $400 spending limit and I was wondering it it was possible to buy a pre-built gaming computer for that price, and or, buy all the parts needed to build it for that price.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Cole.

It is possible for sure, just don't expect to play the latest and greatest and max resolution and graphical settings. You can get a decent system for $400 though. Just hit up Newegg and look at some of their combo deals. They have some good stuff sometimes and you might even find an entire rig as a combo.

Gaming on a budget of $400 is definitely doable.

Shipping was not taken into account as its bound to vary depending on where you live.

EDIT: The September System Build by Toms is already out of date, RAM & Video card prices have dropped and newegg have started stocking the 400W xigmatek PSU which is a brilliant unit for its price.

If you can wait for rebates, I would grab some higher quality parts that will give you a better build. Total is $455.79 including shipping. Minus $55 in rebates gets you to $400.79. You can dig between the cushions for that 79 cents :)

AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor I would recommend a triple core processor. I will be better with multitasking and gaming. Plus you can try to unlock the dormant 4th core (but no guarantees)
