and i want to upgrade to 2Gb, is this memory stick right for the netbook?
http://www.memoryc.com/copmutermemory/ddr2sodimm/2gbtra...
2GB Transcend DDR2 800MHz SO-DIMM PC2-6400 CL6 laptop memory module

this is what the memory stick that came with the netbook says:
1Gb 2RX16PC2-6400S-666-12

should i buy the one i have above 6400- 800Mhz or go for the 5300 667Mhz

Stick with pc5300 and match the brand. Your board can't take advantage of pc6400; it may work but at the lower speed. I also check craigslist for used notebook ram. The most common brand ram in oem systems is probably crucial and hynix. But you're going to have to pull the ram anyway, so I would do it now before you order if you haven't done so already.

thanks for the reply:
the memory that came with the netbook in the first place says this:

1Gb 2RX16PC2-6400S-666-12

doesn`t this mean that the memory stick installed from factory is Pc2 6400 800Mhz but underclocked to 666Mhz?

Probably, but I can't find hynix 2 gb in pc6400. This ram on ebay is closer to what you have now, only slower and probably cheaper: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hynix-2GB-DDR2-667MHz-PC2-5300S.... Only negative is the warranty. If you want lifetime warranty, get your first choice provided you can return it for a rerfund if it doesn't work. But 667 is the speed you're running at now. Your board can't take advantage of pc6400, so I wouldn't spend extra for it.

this is bugging me all day. the price of the memory is the same either 5300 or 6400, so thats not the problem.

this means as you say, my fist option is fine to go with the netbook, even when the original memory stick says:
1Gb 2RX16PC2-6400S-666-12
